Dare You to Move

He raised me.
He saved me.
He brought me.
And he taught me.
He's my keeper.
He's my guide.
I can feel him by my side.

You raised me up.
So I can stand on mountains
You raised me up.
To walk on stormy seas.
I am strong when I am on your shoulders.
You raised me up, to more than I can be.

I think there was a theme for this year's concert.
I wanted so badly to give a dedication, but I don't have anyone dead.
I don't have anyone suffering cancer.
I don't have any extraordinary story to share.

And I am okay with that.

So many people have changed my life this year, that if I just singled one person out,
I would be in shame.
I have someone that turned me into someone with an opinion.
I have someone that made me want to be better at music.
I have someone that taught me that it's okay to think that boys are great.
I have someone that taught me that it's okay to take pictures of ordianary things,
because more than often, they are so much more.
I have someone that told me it's okay to smile even if people don't want you to.
I have someone that taught me how to laugh at pain,
because whining about it isn't go to make it better.
I have someone that told me it's okay to accept me for who I am,
Which is a 5 foot seven, brown haired, green eyed girl
with a love for the big things and small things,
that enjoys the smallest things,
even if it is considered weird.
Because, it's who I am, and no one can change that.
Only me.
I have someone that helped me to have a passion to write songs,
even if they were about the mean things boys did,
and the rude things people said,
and how to fly high.
I have someone that will let me continue my ever waking fear of
skittles.
I have someone that will let me know when to come back down to earth
because floating two feet isn't that much fun anyways.
I have someone that makes me want to continuously be better.

I can't put my heart into my computer and tell you everything that
my heart wants me to.
So, turn off the music on the blog for a second and click this.
It's a tribute to Switchfoot's Dare You to Move.
Vitamin String Quartet.

Welcome to the planet
Welcome to existence
Everyone's here
Everyone's here
Everybody's watching you now
Everybody waits for you now
What happens next?
What happens next?

I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened before

Welcome to the fallout
Welcome to resistance
The tension is here
The tension is here
Between who you are and who you could be
Between how it is and how it should be

I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened

Maybe redemption has stories to tell
Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell
Where can you run to escape from yourself?
Where you gonna go?
Where you gonna go?
Salvation is here

I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself, to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened
Today never happened
Today never happened before
