Lightbulb

Talia Ruth with the
Lamp in her
Bed Room.

Clue, right?
The question is,
is it a) the thought-provoking board game
or b) the suspence-filled 80's/90's move?
The question will be answered for Life Points.
You have two seconds. Go.

If you chose a, then you are wrong, and have not lost.
If you chose b, then you are wrong, and have not lost.
This was a trick question.
It was c) Real Life.

Who would have thought that me, of all people would be a killer?
Of, what, is the real question.

Gru, from Despicable Me,
had a habit of announcing his dastardly, evil thoughts
with one single word.
"Lightbulb!"

It took Thomas Alva Edison near a million ways
to figure out how exactly to make the electric lightbulb.
There was only one way for it to be done.

There's many ways to destroy it, too.

Last night, after many odd and perplexing dreams,
I woke up at 6:30 to Animal, by Neon Trees,
for Driver's Ed.

My hand reaches for the lamp to shed further light
beyond just the haze that gets past my blinds.
I hit emptiness.

My brain can not process the chain of events that follow.

Down upon my newly cleaned floor, stands my lamp.
Without a second thought, I pluck it up and set it on my dresser.
I still need light.
I turn the knob, and the lightbulb glows an ugly brown color.
Thinking that the lamp was simply warming up, I shake the base.
Smoke and sparks emit from the lightbulb.
Quickly, I turn it off.
I still need light.

I could have said anything.
Up to this moment, I had been silent.
I could have said any mild obscenity,
such as 'what the weather!'
or 'Holy Hera!'
I could have said anything.

"I do NOT understand!"

I grab my glasses as I race across the room to turn on the real light.
I observe the scene of the crime.

Glass. Glass everywhere.
It lies up on the dresser.
It lies up on the carpet.
It lies up on the head board.
It lies up on my bed.
The top half of the enviornmental-friendly lightbulb
...
is missing.
It lies shattered up on my room.

"I do NOT understand!"

This is a true story.
I have a broken lightbulb to prove it.

I do believe that a horror movie will follow.
