Peer Pressure

I will never understand this science.
Mayhaps I'll not conform just to say I'm my own person.
But sometimes it is so hard because of the what the people are telling you to do.
And who the people are.

I met this woman when we were juniors in high school. I'm not sure how our friendship started, but it had something to do with "J'aime les frites" and "les petit pois." Serendipity happens when life does; she and I ended up in the same apartment complex at the same university. She is a strong lady who has given so much help to so many people. She has the kind of strength to tell me when I'm being far too kind and the kind of strength to tell me to accept the help she has to offer. She has been absolutely amazing to all those who have crossed her path. She is going so many places in life and I am proud I could be a part of this place with her.
