I have been thinking about it a lot recently and someone verbalized it today in Sacrament Meeting today.
"How blessed we are there is no such thing as coincidence."
Not only that, but we know that thing just don't happen. Things don't just work out. There is someone working things out for us. How blessed we are.
I love looking the grand scheme of things. It makes me feel a lot more grateful and a lot more amazed.
I have made the choice to participate in the Miss Pleasant Grove Scholarship Pageant. Pageants first existed as a beauty contest on a boardwalk by the beach (where the swim suit part of the competition originated). It is a modern development that pageants are for educated, personable, confident women to become role models. Admit it. When you watch parades you wanted to be the girls on the float too.
I am excited for this opportunity that I have, especially when I see how things have worked out in my favor.
Theatre-Where I learned to overcome the fear of being in front of people, I learned that it is okay to be different and spunky, I learned that every opinion is right. The only one that is wrong is the one where you see the fault in someone.
DECA-Where I learned to be professional and confident and educated. What more can I say?
Macy's-Where I learned how to approach complete strangers with kindness, I learned just how many girls and women are insecure of their appearance. Now I want to fight that insecurity as my platform.
Things don't just happen.
If you could, I am raising money for a children's hospital. While it is a requirement for me to participate in the pageant, I genuinely want this hospital to get as much as they can so they can save children's lives. Click on the link here.
