One Ghetto to Another

forgive the poor quality.
I don't own a touchy device.
These are my best work friends.
I quit the Super Ghetto Subway in American Fork.
I would be lying if I said that there was nothing good about that job.
But this freedom I've obtained has taken me from One Super Ghetto to Another.
I'm working at the PG Rec food stand.
Besides getting a new job, I am not in B& B.
I actually bombed my audition.
But that's what the Lord needed to happen to take me places I never could have gone if I was in the show.
Instead, I'm working crazy hard on my Region & State Piece, two ten minute scenes for Drama Four, Hamlet Audition, and the One Act, along with other Dra.Co. investments.

I'm excited for what the Lord wants for me.

Missionary

Let's bring the other sheep in
For the worth of souls is great in the sight of God.
I had the chance to share the gospel with a friend of mine.
Let's call him Josh.
The end result was painful.
I felt like my heart was broken.
I just kept thinking to myself, Why would anyone NOT want Christ in their life.
But the blessing of Agency is given to all.

My respect for missionaries went up to a bajillion percent.

Who?

People are mean.
People are painful.
People are lonely.
You are just the same.
We never know our impact on people.
We never know if we make people want to change
for the right reasons or wrong.

People that I know
tell me that I'm a "die-hard thespian"
to put it lightly.
People tell me I'm shy.
That I'm not a touchy-feely person.
They don't know me.

They think I do this all day.

How crazy would it be to carry around a skull and quote
Hamlet's lament?

Want to know who I am?
Get it right.
I'm not Talia: actress.

I'm Talia, a daughter of a king.
I just so happen to act.

Now who are you?

Grow!

Turning sixteen comes with a lot of perks.
Your key chain now serves an actual purpose.
You get a better ID picture for your wallet.
You can be legal on the streets.
You can date.
You can earn so much freedom, but there's something else that has been 'earned.'

It can't necessarily be earned.
It must be taken special care of, set out in the Son, watered daily, so when it is ready, it may be shared.
My friends, I have a strong testimony of this church, this gospel.

Fear is an interesting thing. It brings on the Fight or Flight response. I used to just run. I would run far away and come back to beat whatever was scaring me with a stick. Now, I pray. I really pray.

Then, I beat it with a stick. Literally or metaphorically depending on the day.

I promise you, if you are having a rough day, where everything is going against you, don't take it out on your wall. Take it down to your knees, and you will be helped up. I promise.

Watch this before Conference this weekend.
